Sports Angel’s mission is to encourage, generate and increase funding and support for youth and sports-related organizations. Sports Angels has tens of thousands of dollars, and in-kind donations, through a number of sports-themed events., Sports Angels has raised tens of thousands of dollars in cash and “in kind” donations. Recipients of Sports Angels grants have included such causes as Katrina-ravaged youth leagues in New Orleans and Pat Lafontaine’s Companions in Courage foundation which outfits rooms in children’s hospitals with family-friendly play areas. In addition, Sports Angels assisted YES Solution, a non-profit organization, in organizing a field trip to a Mets game at Shea Stadium for 50 children kids whose parents are incarcerated.
